My reading habits When I was still a young child, my mother inculcated the habit of reading into me by purchasing story books for me. I particularly enjoyed reading short stories with big and colourful illustrations to enable the reader to have a vivid imagination in their mind while reading the story. Books such as books from AdventureBox is a good example. However, as I grew up to an adolescent, I learnt to vary my choice of books like fantasies, adventures and some classic novels including Bridge to Terabithia and Philip Pullman's trilogy of "His Dark Material", mostly award-winners. I also read Science magazines like Talking Science and DiscoveryBox in primary school. I am enthralled into fantasies and adventures as they can capture the reader's attention with the interesting plot. I can also admire the brilliant choice of words the author uses in award-winning books and learn to be like them. For now, with a hectic schedule in Hwa Chong, I have definitely lesser time to read as compared to primary school. But of course, I'll seize the opportunity to read whenever I have leisure time to spare and get my sense of satisfaction through reading. Want to find out more about the books I read?
